Terms and Conditions
*This estimate is valid for 28 days and is based on current rate. If pricing for a future job, where materials aren’t desired for some time, these prices can be subject to change.
*Prices are based on measurements undertaken by our estimators, if you have provided us with your own measurements and wish to proceed without a site visit then we will not be held responsible if the flooring sizes are incorrect and you will be liable for the full price of the materials and any further costs incurred.
*Payments for supply and fitting jobs can be made via cash or card (debit or credit – excluding American Express) in store, by cheque on completion of job, over the phone or via bank transfer. Supply only of materials requires payment by debit card or bank transfer only, upon placing the order.
*We do not require a deposit, instead, by agreeing to this estimate you are agreeing to the purchase of the goods and services stated in your estimate, along with any additional costs incurred (please continue for additional costs). All payments should be made after completion and within 7 days of invoice.
*All items of furniture, belongings and white goods must be removed from the areas listed prior to our arrival, unless arranged otherwise with a member of the team in advance and accounted for within this estimate. Please be aware this is at the customers own risk, and we will not be held responsible. Failure to do so could lead to reduced fitting efficiency and will result in additional fees.
*These prices do not include for any door shavings; this can be arranged for an extra cost. These prices also do not include for kitchen plinths, wall or skirting board repairs or alterations – if required we can recommend relevant services, this will be independent of our work and will result in further costs. We take great care during installation of flooring however, minor marks caused to paintwork, skirting and wall coverings is sometimes unavoidable and may require touching up by a 3rd party.
*If you require an uplift and disposal of existing floor and this has not been stated in your email, please let us know and we add this to the estimate accordingly. Alternatively, if we have charged for an uplift and disposal which you do not require, there will be a deduction from your invoice, amount will vary dependent upon flooring type and size.
*We do not charge for gripper or standard door plates as this is part of the service, therefore, these will not be deducted if not required. If you wish to have premium plates, underlay, scotia and Stairrods, please let us know and we will adjust the estimate accordingly. Basic beading will require painting by 3rd party. Our subfloor preparation costs are based on our expectations; however, this price may vary. Any additional material or subfloor preparation work will be charged for as an extra upon invoice, additional costs/work will be discussed unless unavoidable or integral to the job. Refusal of additional work recommended will be at the client's own risk.
*We understand that sometimes other trades or situations take longer than anticipated, and therefore, we will store any items purchased free of payment for a total of 60 days. After this point we will require a payment to cover part of the cost of the materials, with the balance being payable at job completion. No additional charges will be added for storage.
*Subfloor put down by builders must be moisture tolerant. We tend to put a levelling compound (prime and screed) over the top to ensure a smooth and flat base for our floors. If a screed is put down by builders that isn’t suitable for our preparations and floor coverings stated in our estimate above, then this could cause the subfloor to blow and there will be costs incurred to resolve this. If you are aware of the screed used by builders, please let us know. Most floor coverings (excluding carpet and laminate) require a damp proof membrane (DPM) to concrete subfloor, this is likely present if the subfloor was done after 1983.
*We will make every effort to ensure satisfaction, however, exact design and colour matching cannot be guaranteed between different widths of carpet or batches of flooring due to manufacturing, of which we have no control. We also cannot guarantee exact matching between samples displayed and flooring supplied as small variations in colour between batches are unavoidable. Engineered Wood being a natural product means there may be variance in the way the wood looks and feels. There can be a variance in colour, design, knots and marks from that on display, we must note these are not considered faults in the product but instead the beauty of a natural wooden floor.
*We opt for the ‘waterfall’ method when installing stair carpet. We only recommend pinning of carpet, under nosings, when we fully fit a landing leading into a runner on the stairs. Please ensure there is no beading under the top nosing, or this is cut away to the size of the runner, if this is your desired look.
*All floor coverings can be affected by direct sunlight or light exposure. We recommend avoiding the use of mats and rugs in areas that are exposed to outside lighting and where there is underfloor heating. Most floor coverings are designed to be laid in lived in environments where there is a constant and steady room temperature. Extreme heat or cold can affect these floor coverings. If there is underfloor heating, please make a member of the team aware so we can undertake the correct preparation prior to installation and advise on how to use these once the flooring has been installed. Underfloor heating must be turned off 48 hours prior to our subfloor preparations and installation of LVT and wooden floor coverings, however, there should be an average temperature of 18 degrees to the area (air temp). This can be achieved by heaters, if you require heating machines then these will be charged out as a hire and amount will be added to your invoice upon completion.
*Drying times of subfloor preparation can be affected by temperature, thickness and airflow. We will not lay a floor where the subfloor is reading damp. Please note, drying times can cause delays to installation, despite our best intent to get your job booked in and moving forward.
*Please inform a member of the team prior to fitting of the location of any pipes, wires or cables to the area stated within your estimate. We will take the greatest of care when working with wires, pipes and cables but will not be responsible if damage is caused.
*If you are having any LVT or Engineered Wood flooring installed by us, we recommend regular maintenance once the flooring has been laid. If you would like to speak to a member of the team regarding the aftercare you can do so via phone or email. We stock many of the recommended cleaning and maintenance products, a relevant care kit is included within your estimate for a discounted price. If you do not wish to obtain the care kit at the discounted rate, please inform a member of the team before flooring is complete and we will deduct this from your invoice. For carpets we would recommend regular hoovering, especially in high traffic areas, as this will help prevent premature wear.
